Q: What is ShinyNickles? A: ShinyNickles is a site for people who have digital images they want printed on a high quality offset printer.

Q: How does it work? A:

1) Create as many layouts in your own scrapbooking or image editing software (Memory Mixer/Photoshop) on your computer as you wish.

2) Save your layout as a jpg file with a minimum of 1800 pixels square.

3) On the ShinyNickels.com site you need to create an account on the Sign In page.

4) Click on the 12x12 printing link.  There you can upload as many of your layout images (jpg files) as you want.

5) When you are done uploading all the pictures you want to print, go to the shopping cart page and pay.  Once you pay, it will take a three to four days to process and ship your order.

Q: How do I get the best quality print for my digital images? A: First, pictures you put on your image need to be sharp and in focus.  Second, you must set the resolution of your final image to be a minimum of 150 pixels (or dots) per inch.  If the pixels per inch are less than 150 but the width and height are both more than 1800 pixels, then you will still be ok to upload.

Q: How do I verify my pixels per inch are ok before I upload? A: In windows, right click on your image file and click the properties option.   In properties click the details tab.  Down the list under the heading "Image" you'll see horizantal and vertical resolution listed.  Those numbers need to say 150 dpi or more.  Remember is the Height and Width are both more than 1800, even if the dpi says less than 150, you will sill have a high quality print.
